My younger daughter, Aislinn, asked me an interesting question that changed the course I took in a personal situation. “Mommy,” she said, “what if this thing that’s happening is really another chance to do it right? What if you’ve already done this once–or a thousand times–and you’re in a time loop and you don’t know it and you have one more chance to get it right?”

She immediately moved on to some other topic but I, the science fiction-fantasy-time travel fan, was left gasping out loud.
