It’s weird. Sometimes I forget that Daddy’s dead.
I woke up yesterday from a half-dream and was mad and disappointed because he hadn’t acknowledged my birthday. Not that it was something he ever really did when he was alive. He left that to Mama. Or if he did say something, it was some smart-aleck comment that went unappreciated.

But there was still that momentary wave of anger and sadness, one I don’t recall having or acknowledging during his breathing moments, and then I realized that he would yet again not show any joy of sharing this incarnation with me.
