Why I’m Writing about YOU

Why I’m Writing about YOU

Periodically, people swear I’m writing about them or that I must know what’s going on in their lives because what I’m saying hits a little too close to home. I mentioned this to a friend this week who gave me a nice twist on the insight.

The way it was explained is that if you’re a regular reader who feels I’m speaking directly to you—when most of the time, I’m obliviously journaling about an event or impression or emotion going on in my life that I’m working through for myself—then there’s a good reason you feel I’m speaking directly to you. I am…even if I don’t know it.

Our souls reflect each other in some way, and if you recognize what I’m saying in your life, then it’s because your soul recognizes mine.

The more you experience the “me, too” or the sudden “ah-ha!” when you read my words, the more we mirror each other. The same goes for whenever I say something that you feel helps where you are in life now or that seems to be the right thing said at the right time.

I suppose it goes back to like attracting like, but I really like the way my friend expressed it.
