I love beautiful tarot and oracle cards, so for each chapter of each novel I write, I draw a card from one of my decks and read it intuitively. For this chapter, I drew the Queen of Swords – Witches Tarot Deck. See the bottom of the page for information about the novel.

Confrontation (Chapter 21 ), The Lost Teachings of Dead Monks
I have pulled the Queen of Swords from the Witches Tarot deck.
In this chapter, Lilah and Rune face-off over Charlie and the destiny of more than one ancient book, including the even more dangerous Key of Hell and Death. Whereas Rune has been playing the Queen of Hearts card with Charlie, in his absence, both women become the Queen of Swords, first in a verbal confrontation and then a physical confrontation on the edge of the Cliffs of Moher.
I love the queen on this card. She’s regal, full of confidence, holds a sword to defend her position. And yet…and yet her throne is precarious on the edge of the cliff, whether she realizes it or not. If she does realize it, she resigned herself to it.
Notice that her feet aren’t flat on the ground and ready to spring forward. She will either defend her position or fall over the edge. With her non-sword hand, she beckons and seems to say, “Come and get me.”

Law of Attraction, magical library, ancient artifact, witches and librarians. Both Lilah and Charlie try to use the Law of Attraction to get what they want but manifest their fears instead.
