Finding My Own Art

Many people in my family are artistically talented. Me, I’m doing great if you can guess the sex of my stick figures. Maybe  it’s this lack  of talent  that explains  why I have been utterly charmed by any man who’s ever offered to draw me.

The Long-Awaited Honest-to-God Secret to Being Happy

I’ve been an amateur photographer  since the fourth grade, and I still remember the poor kid I kept wanting to get a picture of until our teacher finally had had enough and told the boy to stand in front of the class and hold still long enough  for me to  get a good shot  at him.  I mean,  of him.  The  film  was  old  and  the  photo  never turned out, but hey, by that point, he knew I liked him. So did everyone else.

So photography is one place where I’ve let my artistic talents  emerge—since  brush  strokes  and  pencil  shades always failed me. And then I discovered I could manipulate photographs on my computer!

This is one of those things I enjoy just for itself. Except for using the pics occasionally online for marketing a book or a website, there’s not  particular  reason to play with graphic tools, except…well, to play.

And playing is important.

Which brings me to my wishlist, once again. I want a man who’ll hold still for me to take photos of him.
