Technology Overload!

Okay, I’ve been a little too plugged  in. Last year, I turned down a Blackberry for email and a cell phone for the consulting part of my day job. No to the beeper, too. Pretty amazing when you consider how much I like new gadgets.

The Long-Awaited Honest-to-God Secret to Being Happy

I was already carrying my personal cell phone, a digital recorder, iPod, and a PDA, though I wasn’t allowed to connect the  PDA to my office computer for fear of vi- ruses (grand pain). I couldn’t  see adding another phone (no personal calls and texts to or from my kids on the official phone) and a Blackberry. I was already in serious need of a holster to carry it all.Flying By Night novel

I lost my iPod and ditched my PDA (my 3rd), then traded my  recorder  for  a  more  streamlined  digital  recorder with 27 hours of available dictation time on it. At the moment,  I’m happier not  being on demand all the time, but it’s seriously time for a new cell  phone  and a new wireless service. I haven’t been happy with Alltel for the past couple of years and honestly, changing phones is the biggest reason I haven’t switched yet. Nothing on the market really suits me at the moment, and I guess I don’t know what will suit me in the near future.

And then there’s switching over my cell phonebook.

Okay, so that’s the biggest block.

On the other hand, because my phone’s almost always within my reach, I’ve stopped wearing a watch. Call me a modern girl.
