I am one of the 71-73 Indigo.. I've just recently found this out after all the unsettling premonitions in my life either through “antenna” like empathic reception to those close to me or close physical contact (like a handshake or whatever) with strangers for traumatic events ..like death. I know if someone is going to die. The violence of their death or lack of it has a particular signature. I don't have to go into detail to the previous for empathic reasons .. Hell! I'm still linked to my ex-girlfriends, one of whom after having her first child was diagnosed with a brain tumor.. I had not seen her in more than 10 years .. however it came to me in waking and sleeping dreams over and over again. The list goes on and on so I will be considerate to not elaborate.
I would just like to say you are right on track with the similarity of Indigo's in the 71-73 time frame...I was born in early September 71 .. Virgo... Double Whammy. You are right, you are not alone

wow. You really shouldn't had put the TV on max trying to hear that whine XD..

The mosquito ringtone isn't just for idigos I think, but for people under 30 with still good hearing.
I've always had sensitive ears, and now wear earplugs to concerts, and sometimes school dances or just places where I KNOW the music will be too loud. I used to cry when I was little cause certainsounds were too loud, and other kids were like *whatever* about it. But I dunno it made me sad.

A cool way to tell if a certain screen is flickering, (like the TV especially) is to wave your hand really fast in front of it at a constant speed. Like a strobe light, you might see the "hands" get sharper than if you were just waving it against a plain surface like your ceiling (at the same speed).

Personally, I'm not sure how much of the perceived increase in psychically sensitive people is real, and how much is perceived because of changes in society, literature and entertainment, and childrearing. I suspect that we are spotting more psychically sensitive kids because this generation and their parents are more likely to accept their talents as talents-- or at least existing anomalies-- rather than attempting an unhealthy suppression.

I'm also wary of the "indigo kids" label. Most usages of the term that I've seen seem to be linked to a desire of a parent to see their kids as more special than other kids, coupled with a sort of "end times" anticipation/fear of the future.

I feel that there are special talents and special challenges in every generation, caused by unique material and spiritual influences, and varying geographically as well. I would like to see more focus on how each generation can be cherished, and their special talents and quirks used or worked around for the benefit of all.

>> or, he may get emotional because he doesn’t know how to help whoever it is he’s “picking up”;>>

I know exactly what you mean by this. I've learned to shield which makes it manageable, but there are certain loved ones I won't shield from and that means catching some bad emotional stuff from them at odd times. When I get a wave like this, I make the rounds, calling my mom, kids, friends to see if they're all okay. My kids have this, too. Sudden bad feeling about Grandma feeling upset? Call her out of the blue and she's not home...because she just took Grandpa to the hospital and he's just passed. That kind of thing. My own empathy gets stronger as I get older but it's always been there. One shaman described me as a human antenna. Feels right.

I've noticed similar gifts among those with severe ADHD and BPD. The different "wiring," yes. I've particularly noticed this among men born in the 1971-73 timeframe, and feel drawn to them as well as to my daughters' generation. There are always gifts to balance the "disorders." Or is it the other way around? Yes, it fascinates me.

Thanks for reading!

Good morning,

Have you already run out the door, off to start your day? Well take a break and have a quick read of my comment...

Thanks for this blog. I wanted to share a personal situation of mine. My partner has been diagnosed bi-polar, paranoid schiz,ADHD etc...(born July 23, 1976 - and I don't know if that places him in any certain generation), but there's a gift inside.

We'll be driving along for example, and suddenly, say in an intersection, he'll start to say, "'73 Red Vega, Melanie - I've got a brand new pair of roller skates on the radio... 1973, 3:34 in the afternoon on Dec. 8, Kevin Smith left this life." or, he may get emotional because he doesn't know how to help whoever it is he's "picking up"; he's had a couple of occasions when he became very emotionally distraught, not knowing how to help them move on. At first, I was checking his data against public records or the Internet. I've stopped doing that - he's been right every single time.

Then there's our foster son; similar diagnosis, 16 years old, and knows what people are "REALLY thinking, not the bullcrap you guys hear" as he puts it.

I believe you're right with what you've shared in your blog. Those who we may feel are "insane" or having "mental health issues" are actually given a gift - even may be "wired" differently than much of the population. I've seen a similar phenomenon in neo-nates who are severely stressed in utero (due to mom's drug use) or from the NICU. I have witnessed many of these babies develop unique skills as they mature.

Again, thanks for your blog and the opportunity for me to share my situation back to you. I'm your new fan!
